Naik directs DG to probe into Amitabh on having hidden huge wealth

Governor Ram Naik, reportedly directed director general of civil defense to conduct a probe regarding allegations that IG (civil defense) Amitabh Thakur, who is also a social activist, had made huge wealth and that he also made changes in his information given regarding his assets to the Police Department. Another social activist, Sanjay Sharma, claimed to have written to governor that Amitabh Thakur, had informed the Department that Thakur and his wife Nutan, also a social activist, had ten properties in their names in UP and Bihar. Amongst the above, he owned a HIG house in Viramkhand in Gomati Nagar, a plot in Khargapur, a plot of 5000 square feet in Ujriyon. Besides he owned house in Mujaffarpur, Patna, Sitamarhi along with agriculture land in Bihar. Sanjay claimed that the couple had mentioned in their official record that they earned about Rs 2.88 lakh annualy through the above properties.

Sanjay further said that after controversy arises, Amitabh Thakur had changed his statement filed with the department in which he concealed most of the properties and claimed that he and his wife just owned two properties. Sanjay said that suspecting that Amitabh had made huge wealth through dubious means, he wrote a letter to the governor requesting him to get the matter probed. He said that finally on his application, Governor Ram Naik directed DG (civil defense) to probe the matter. Sanjay also claimed  that earlier IG (Karmik) Nutan Thakur, also get similar complaint but she failed to get the probe started against Amitabh Thakur.
