Minister – Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Through Secretary - Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Government of India, New Delhi-110001 secy.inb@nic.in Sub. : Request for inquiry to check the veracity of tweet dated 04-01-15 of UP CM office by bringing UFO Moviez, ClubXpremieres, Producers/ Directors /Distributors of Film ‘PK’ into the ambit of the inquiry. Sir, Please refer to my complaint dated 02-01-15 & 04-01-15 which were sent to you through e-mail. In this connection I wish to add that Office of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has dismissed all allegations against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for having ‘downloaded pirated version’ of PK. In this regard, office of CM UP has tweeted on 04-01-15 (Sunday) which is available at URL https://twitter.com/ Screenshot of tweet of UP CM office is also attached.  By this tweet, Office of UP CM has issued a clarification saying that the movie was specially screened for the CM at his residence through a ‘premium screening facility’. “The screening of PK was done on Club X Media Server installed at Mr Akhilesh Yadav’s residence,” the official Twitter handle of UP Chief Minister’s office _@CMOfficeUP has said on Twitter. Elaborating further on this, the CMO stated: “Club X service enables authorised private screenings of movies at Club X licensed auditorium of its members. Movies can be screened from the date of their theatrical release in India. Movies are delivered to the Club X Media Servers over a captive satellite network or are physically delivered and are stored in a digitally encrypted form. A licence is required to playback the movie each time and is issued based upon the authorisation received from the content owners.” It further says, “This screening was done with a licence that was issued for this screening. Assumptions about downloading of a movie over the Internet and any unauthorised use are baseless. More information about this service can be found on their website www.clubxpremieres.com” As per website www.clubxpremieres.com, Club X is an Ultra Exclusive Luxury Entertainment service. Membership to Club X is strictly against an Invitation or through an introduction by an existing member. All existing Club X members represent the cream of India’s Uber HNI’s. They come from diverse backgrounds ranging from Industrialists, Large Corporate CEO’s, Prominent Sports & Film personalities and eminent politicians. Prime Movie Premieres @ Member's Private Theatre is a service in which Club X members get access to prime movie content on the 1st day 1st show basis. These movies can be screened any time from the date of release as per their convenience at their private theatres. It is truly one of its kind service in the world at the moment. When I searched the website www.clubxpremieres.com under ‘Recent Releases’ URL http://www.clubxpremieres.com/ could not find ‘PK’ in their list of recent releases. This is casting doubt on veracity of statement of CM office of UP with regard to screening of film ‘PK’ on club X media. Moreover, there is no clarification from any of the ClubXpremieres, UFO Moviez or Producers/ Directors /Distributers of the film as to whether film ‘PK’ was made available to UFO moviez and/or ClubXpremieres for screening it in residence of UP CM. Moreover, Right from the beginning, UP government is not at all transparent in this matter and its behavior is dubious. First, CM Akhilesh Yadav himself admitted openly before media that he downloaded the film ‘PK’ and watched it. In its first tweet, UP Chief Minister Office’s Twitter handle clarified that “UP CM Akhilesh Yadav has licensed UFO Movies digifacility to download and watch movies. Controversy around pirated download is unwarranted.” (Screenshot of this tweet of UP CM office is also attached ) 
and now this second
tweet has come out but till date neither the UP CM office has put the actual contract/agreement papers of contracts/agreements made amongst UP Government, UFO Moviez, ClubXpremieres and Producers/ Directors /Distributers of Film ‘PK’ & letters written by Govt. of UP for screening of ‘PK’ for CM in public domain nor has any of the ClubXpremieres, UFO Moviez or Producers/ Directors /Distributers of the film ‘PK’ had come out to clarify as to whether film ‘PK’ was made available to UFO moviez and/or ClubXpremieres for screening it in residence of UP CM. . Hence,I am hereby sending abovementioned additional inputs with a request for an additional inquiry to check the veracity of tweet dated 04-01-15 of UP CM office by bringing UFO Moviez, ClubXpremieres, Producers/Directors/ inquiry in connection with my requests dated 02-01-15 & 04-01-15 in the matter of UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and others having downloaded the film ‘PK’ from a website , thus watching a pirated copy of film and take subsequent punitive actions against all the defaulters as per the law of the land.
